Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has played down links with Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, saying the No.1 position is crucial to his defensive play and he needs to improve after his warm-up game.
The Blues were held to a 2-2 draw by League One side Wrexham on Tuesday in the Italian’s inauguration. And it was clear that the team were building up at every opportunity. Whether it was knocking the ball away from the press or even dribbling through the area, which led to the second goal.
However, Maresca insists that his style of play must be short from his own โปรโมชั่น ufabet goal. As for whether Robert Sanchez will still be the last man standing, let’s keep it a secret for now.
“What I can say is Robert did well last night and has done well since we started,” he told Chelsea TV.
“Of course, the way we want to play goalkeepers is a very important position and I don’t want to talk about players who are not at Chelsea.”
“Just say that you are happy with Robert.”
“As for whether we will get a new goalkeeper? Let’s wait and see. At the moment, we have four goalkeepers. Georgi Petrovic is still here, he’s just injure.”
“When the time comes, we will know. As long as the transfer market is open, anything can happen for us or other teams.”
“The first goal conceded wasn’t due to build-up at the back – but the second one was.”
“Details of the first goal conceded because of a misfire. We lost a one-on-one duel. And then we got shot.”
“Of course, this season, we can’t avoid conceding goals when we intentionally build up from the back. I just hope it’s not too many.”
“It’s one of the risks when you choose to go down the path of a team that plays from the back,”
Jorgensen is a goalkeeper who rose through the youth ranks of the ‘ Yellow Submarine ‘ and rose to prominence last season, making 37 appearances in all competitions. He is currently contracte to Villarreal until mid- 2029.
